Existence of two individuals got entangled by their unconscious decision to confine themselves in an apartment
This film is a loose cinematic adaptation of a play by Samuel Beckett : Waiting for Godot.
In this project, Beckett’s play is working as a skeleton around which a modern day story is told.
Absurdities that were once exaggerated in theatre are now getting intermingled in our life so well that we are unable to notice them; repetition has taken a more respectful name: routine.
Absurdities once imagined as fancies have now taken a material shape.
So, whatever is material, whatever is the matter of real life need to be seen from the perspective of cinema; whatever can be shown without the mediation of signifier deserves to be registered at Camera Sensor.
This story is an account of two individuals whose lives get entangled as they unconsciously choose to get confined in an apartment.
How they get into a vicious circle of repetition and how the essence of their existence gets summed up into waiting for something. That ‘something’ was named Godot in the Play of Beckett and became “Waiting For Godot”.
But nowadays that name has also gone and thus, we do only one thing: WAIT.
Meet The Team
Sahib Iqbal Singh
(Cast/ Art Director)
"Our desire of experimenting with the form of Cinema to invent a unique new aesthetic was the suction force that made all of us gravitate towards one another. “Ode to Cinema” was our first effort as a team in this direction and next was a documentary “Landless”. “WAIT” is our first feature film and we are very sure that this project will achieve its main task of capturing the procrastination and numbness that uniquely identifies our generation."
